Vertical expansion of an existing two-story row house in Washington DC to add a new third floor and a rooftop outdoor living space. The work includes new wood framed stud walls over the existing load-bearing masonry walls, as well as replacing the existing wood roof framing with new engineered wood framing at the new third floor and roof, and removal and re-support of existing load-bearing elements supporting the second floor.
